LapScout Terms of Service

Effective date: October 14, 2026

These terms govern your use of lapscout.com and the LapScout service provided by LapScout ("we"). Contact us at hello@lapscout.com. By using LapScout after these terms take effect, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Purpose

LapScout helps users review onboard footage, organize clips and landmarks, and share track references.

You are responsible for your account, for keeping sign-in and invitation links private, and for content and actions associated with your account. Use accurate account information and do not impersonate someone else. Contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

2. Driving safety and AI output

LapScout is a reference and learning tool, not professional driving instruction or a safety system. Footage, maps, notes, and AI suggestions may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Tracks, conditions, vehicles, and driver abilities differ. Review suggestions before relying on them.

Use LapScout while stationary. Do not operate the app while driving. Follow track rules, officials, applicable laws, and qualified instruction. You remain responsible for your driving decisions. Using LapScout does not guarantee improved performance or safe driving.

3. Your content and sharing

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive permission to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate LapScout, including requested AI analysis and displaying references you share. This permission does not transfer ownership of your footage to us.

You must own the content or have permission to upload it and allow these uses. Obtain any necessary permissions concerning people, copyrighted material, or other protected information appearing in it. Do not upload confidential or sensitive information you are not authorized to share.

New saved sessions currently default to public shared references. Anyone may view a shared session and its associated footage and notes. The current interface does not expose a sharing selector. Do not treat newly saved content as private. Content marked private remains accessible to its owner and authorized administrators for service management.

When content is deleted, our permission ends except for processing needed to complete deletion, retained backups or records, legal obligations, and content still used by another saved session. Viewers may have made copies outside LapScout that we cannot remove.

Public availability does not grant viewers ownership or a general license to republish another user's content. Respect the rights of content owners.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use LapScout to upload unlawful or infringing content, harass others, distribute malicious software, impersonate another person, evade access controls, interfere with the service, or make abusive automated requests. Do not use another user's account or private content without authorization.

We may limit uploads or AI use, remove content, or restrict or suspend accounts to address abuse, security concerns, violations of these terms, or service constraints. Where appropriate and practicable, we will provide an explanation and a way to contact us about the decision.

5. Service availability and changes

LapScout is an evolving service. Features may change, and outages, errors, or data loss can occur. Keep your original footage and other important material outside LapScout. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular performance result, or permanent storage.

We may change or discontinue features or the service. If we introduce paid plans, we will disclose pricing and applicable terms before you agree to a purchase; these terms do not authorize charges by themselves.

6. Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle account information, content, and usage records. Google, ChatGPT, email delivery, hosting, and AI providers may also apply their own terms to their services. LapScout is not endorsed by Google, track operators, or organizations shown in uploaded footage merely because they are referenced in the app.

7. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LapScout is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties that its content, analysis, or service will be accurate, suitable for a particular purpose, or error-free.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of the service, including losses arising from inaccurate suggestions, interruptions, or lost content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Ending use and resolving concerns

You may stop using LapScout at any time and delete sessions you are permitted to manage. To request account deletion or raise a concern about content, access, or these terms, contact hello@lapscout.com. Disabling an account does not itself delete saved content or records.

9. Updates

We may revise these terms as LapScout changes. We will publish the revised terms with an effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law.
